Scholarships at School of Information Technology

The School of Information Technology (SoIT) at Shinawatra University (SIU) is offering 50 scholarships for new students admitted in its BSc in Computer Science (BSCS), MSc in IT (MSIT) and PhD in IT (PhD-IT) programs in this Academic Year 2012 (June 2012 – May 2013). Each scholarship will cover 50% of tuition fee for the entire program (subject to satisfactory academic performance). The School of IT is ranked #3 in the latest Research Assessment Exercise conducted countrywide by the Thailand Research Fund (TRF) for the Information and Communication Technology / Computer Engineering Discipline. SoIT faculty members are internationally recruited with research interests in diverse areas: Artificial Intelligence, Software and Requirement Engineering, Database, Networking, XML and Semantic Web Technology, Natural Language Processing, Information Retrieval, E-Learning and Digital Library.

IT Students Won Five Awards from “Open House for Young Talents 2011″ National Software Contest

Congratulations to students and faculty members from the School of Information Technology on their achievements of five awards from the Open House for Young Talents 2011 national software contest organized by Thailand’s Software Industry Promotion Agency (SIPA) in partnerships with Intel, Lenovo and major mobile development firms. The contest is a venue for undergraduate students from around the country to present their senior projects in the areas of Digital Media, Mobile Computing, Enterprise Software Systems and Embedded Systems, which are aspects of information technology crucial in today’s economy. Top Three Internship Project Award 2008 and 2009: IBM SD

During Summer 2008, two SIU’s Computer Science students, Ms. Kornschnok Dittawit and Ms. Nuttaporn Somboonsook, were selected as summer students representatives to make final project presentations on 30th May 2008 during their summer internship at IBM Solutions Delivery Co, Ltd. (IBMSD) Kornschnok’s and Nuttaporn’s project teams were two of the three teams to be selected. Later in Summer 2009, Mr. Sereerattapol Kamwang, a Computer Science student, also joined IBMSD for his internship. His internship project was also selected as one of the top three project. The selection was done by IBMSD managers based on performance and commitment criteria.
